Polarian's Website

Finally a new website

After having no website for a few years, mainly due to not wanting to deal with the headache of maintaining one, I have finally managed to make one which I can maintain.

My original website was raw html, this made modifications more annoying to add, and blogposts annoying to write. Markdown however is far easier to write quickly, and writing blogposts in markdown is easy to do from any text editor.

I first started with ssg6, which I am still using the css of. However, after finding numerous bugs, and reviewing how poorly the script handled certain things (such as requiring vim, a text editor, to generate the site) I looked for an alternative.

The same dev thankfully maintains a modern version, ssg7 which is far better written, and the bugs I was encountering (such as typos in the sitemap) disappeared.

So now I have a website again, and a blog.
